The brief
The Gallery has been cutting hair in Tunbridge Wells since 1995 and has the reputation to match. Its pricing works on stylist experience levels, which is simple in the chair and awkward on a web page. Visitors need to find their stylist, find the right column and book, in that order and without hesitating.
There is plenty more to hold besides. Bridal work, the Gallery Rituals treatments, training, product sales and a booking app. All of it had to sit under one visual idea rather than reading as a stack of separate offers. Matt Ollive designed the site. Rockhopper Digital built it.
The approach
We built the team and the price list as linked content. Each stylist is a record with an experience tier attached, and the price list is generated from those tiers, so a price change or a promotion is one edit in the admin rather than three edits in three places.
The rest is paced like the salon. Large images, quiet type, plenty of white space, and booking links placed where a visitor has just decided rather than everywhere at once. Reviews are handled as site content rather than a third-party widget, which keeps the pages fast on a phone.
The outcome
The salon can change prices, add stylists and promote treatments without calling anyone.
