Overview
Rockhopper Digital was founded by Martin Phillips in 2016. The studio designs, builds and looks after websites for businesses, charities and independent traders across the UK and beyond.
Martin is your main point of contact from start to finish, supported by a team of SEO specialists and developers. You get the attention of an independent studio with the capability of a much larger agency.
Martin started his career in 2001 as a digital, new media and print designer at Brooker & How in Hastings, and went on to run the studio there as Studio Manager.
In 2006 he joined Adams Creative as Senior Online Designer. Over the following decade he led the agency’s digital work, becoming Head of Digital and Studio in 2013 and overseeing the design and delivery of websites and campaigns for a wide range of clients.
He set up Rockhopper Digital in 2016 to offer agency-level design and development without the agency price tag, and has run it full time since 2017.

Martin leads every project personally and is supported by a team of SEO specialists and developers. That gives you one clear point of contact, with the depth of expertise to handle technical builds, integrations and search campaigns of any size.
More than two decades of studio experience, together with our specialist team, means the whole job is handled from the first sketch to the live site and the support that follows.
Every project starts with a conversation about what the website needs to achieve, not with a template. We would rather recommend the right piece of work than the one that is easiest to quote.
Sites are built to load quickly, read clearly on a phone and be straightforward for you to update. After launch, our hosting and maintenance plans keep them secure, backed up and up to date.
The studio is based in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, but our clients are not limited to the local area. We work with businesses and organisations right across the UK, and have delivered projects for clients in the United States, Canada and South Africa.
Most projects run smoothly by video call, email and shared documents, so distance and time zones are rarely a barrier. Local clients are always welcome to meet in person.
