The brief
RealSense sells four related things: ready-made e-learning, bespoke course development, assessment tools and the Activbase learning platform. Buyers rarely want all four. A health and safety manager and an HR director arrive with different problems, and each needs to reach a different part of the offer quickly.
Behind that sits a content library running to more than a hundred modules across eight subject areas, with accreditations from bodies including IOSH, CPD and ILM. That much material needs a browsing structure of its own, or it ends up as a catalogue nobody opens. The site had to make it findable.
The approach
We separated the platform from the content. Activbase runs as its own thread through the site, with the catalogue treated as a browsable library underneath it. Courses are structured records, filtered by subject area and accreditation, so the library grows by adding entries rather than by rebuilding pages.
Templates are built for speed and for search. Each subject area is a genuine landing page with its own copy and metadata, not a filtered view under a generic heading. The result answers specific training queries directly while still reading as one product rather than a directory.
The outcome
RealSense can add courses, accreditations and whole subject areas without developer time.
