The brief
The charity runs a set of named campaigns, among them Sunguarding Sport, Sunguarding Workplaces and the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code. Each has its own audience, its own partners and its own toolkit. Over time they had grown into near-separate properties, which split the charity's search presence.
Alongside the campaigns sit e-learning courses, downloadable resources, an accreditation scheme, a shop and a donation route. The Fund is a small team doing national work. Whatever we built had to be maintainable by people whose job is sun safety rather than websites.
The approach
We brought the campaigns back under one roof as a single Sunguarding framework, giving each its own landing page and toolkit while sharing navigation, design and search authority. Nothing was flattened in the process. A golf club and a primary school still arrive at material written for them.
The course finder is built as a filterable directory, so a visitor picks by activity or sector and lands on the right training in one step. Resources and toolkits are structured content with their own metadata, which makes them findable in search instead of buried in a list of downloads.
The outcome
The campaigns now support each other rather than competing for the same searches, and the team publishes new resources without help.
