The brief
SustainPlan covers a wide spread of assessments, from SAP and SBEM calculations to overheating, daylight and whole life carbon. Architects and developers arrive knowing they need something signed off, but rarely knowing which report they are actually being asked for. The old presentation left them to work that out on their own.
The consultancy also works across project stages, from early planning through to as-built sign-off. That meant the site had to explain sequence as well as service. It needed to hold a dozen assessment types without turning into a list, and route each enquiry to the person who deals with it.
The approach
We built a services architecture that works at two levels. Each assessment has its own page, written to answer the questions people actually type into search. Above those sits a set of grouped entry points for visitors who know the outcome they need but not the technical name for it.
Getting a price is quick. Every service page carries its own quote request: visitors choose the assessments they need, add a project brief or planning reference, and send it without leaving the page. The route through the site is the same everywhere, from finding the service to understanding what it involves to asking for a quote, so nobody has to work out where to go next. FAQs are built as structured content, so search engines can read them as well as people.
The outcome
SustainPlan now has one place to send architects, planners and contractors, whatever stage they are at. Enquiries arrive with enough detail to quote from.
